Programme of Radio and Television Technology
Qualification Awarded
Students who have successfully completed all the courses in the 2 year education plan and have a minimum of 120 ECTS are awarded associate degree in the field of Radio and Television Technology.
Specific Admission Requirements
The student who wants to register for the department is obliged to complete the exams determined by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) within the scope of academic and legal regulations of the university. A student who is studying in the equivalent program at home or abroad may apply for a transfer. Acceptance of students is examined at the beginning of the semester, taking into consideration the conditions of each student and the degree to which he / she has applied, and is considered special. Students who come from abroad as part of the student exchange program approved by the university and bounded by an agreement can take courses in English in the department. If the student is proficient in Turkish language, he / she can enroll in any course given in the course plan.
Qualification Requirements
Candidates must be able to successfully complete the courses in the program (120 ECTS in total) and obtain a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 in order to graduate. In addition, 60 days (8 ECTS) summer internship must be completed.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students who have previously studied at another Higher Education Institution are recognized in the framework of the Pre-Undergraduate and Undergraduate Education-Training Regulations of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. Exemption Examination is held at the beginning of each academic term for Foreign Languages (English, German, French etc.), Information Communication Technologies, Atatürk Principles and Revolution History courses which are all of the higher education programs. Students who think they provide the qualifications expected from these courses have the right to take the exams. Students who are successful in the examination are exempted from the relevant courses in the course schedule.
History
The Programme of Radio and Television Technology which providing education within Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Muğla Vocational School, started education under the name “Radio and Television Broadcasting Programme”.
Profile of the Programme
In this programme intermediate personnel are trained to corporation which are working in the field of radio, cinema and television and the production companies that produces content to thiscorporations. Therefore in the programme, theory and practice training programmes are implemented for this purpose. In the summer students have a training in the relevant professional institution and thus become acquainted with the sector.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
The extent to which students are successful in achieving the predicted learning outcomes of each course unit in the curriculum of the Radio and Television Technology Program is measured by in-term activities and final exams at the end of each semester. Midterm and final exams are held at the date, place and time determined and announced by the university. It is given by the lecturers taking into consideration that the students are provided with the attendance condition based on the results of the semester grades, midterm, homework, quizzes, final exam and other evaluation results. The success of a student is assessed by the teaching staff for each assessment (in-term studies and final) defined for each course. The evaluation is based on a total score of 100 and is converted into a letter grade using the relative evaluation methodology determined by the Senate, taking into consideration the standard deviation and grade average of the grade at the end of the semester.
Graduation Requirements
Candidates for graduation must successfully complete the courses in the programme (120 ECTS), and have a GPA of at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale. Graduates who have successfully completed the programme are given the degree as associate’s degree in the field of Radio and Television Technology Programme.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who graduated from our programme are preferential personnel for all radio and television channels. Currently most of our graduates are working at stage and backstage of many television and radio programme. Also our graduates are working at cinema sector. Many of our graduates are working as a film editor, director, producer, scenarist, reporter, cinematographer, photographer.
Access to Further Studies
If the gratuated students are succeed in Vertical Crossing Exam (DGS made by OSYM), they can have the oppurtunity to have a bachelor’s degree.
